I don’t think John would have been terribly shocked by 9-11, but he would have been
by how lax and sloppy we had become in allowing it to be so effective.

I am not so sure. He may have been more shocked if we had built snowmobiles, instead of fronts and centers of gravities. Especially under the guidance of Cheney, considering.
